Why the Council was created
Cherie explains why she founded FHCGS: to remove housing obstructions, help renters and home seekers and fill a service gap she found after arriving in Sacramento.

Coordination with pro bono attorneys, legal research and preparation of complaints and position papers.

Capacity to act before a denial, eviction or administrative breakdown becomes homelessness.
Tracking recurring practices and patterns so that education and enforcement can prevent future harm.

Assist with outreach, research, communications, administration, data organization or professional services.
Gain exposure to nonprofit operations, housing policy, client intake, public education and civil-rights advocacy.
Qualified law students may assist with legal research, case documentation and complaint preparation under appropriate supervision.
